Coming Soon: LymphaTouch Pro for Scar Therapy
Something new has arrived at HER Pelvic Health: our LymphaTouch Pro Therapy Device LT02. I’ll be introducing it soon as an additional option within our scar therapy service, giving us another way to work with scars that feel tight, restricted or uncomfortable.
Coming soon. The device is here, and the service will be launching soon. I’ll share the launch date and appointment details when they’re confirmed. In the meantime, you’re welcome to ask me about it.
A scar is more than a mark on the skin
After a C-section or other abdominal surgery, you might notice a pulling sensation when you stretch, discomfort from your waistband, or an area that feels difficult to touch. You may also feel unsure about reconnecting with that part of your body.
These are all things we can talk about in a scar therapy assessment. We’ll look at how your scar and the surrounding skin move, what bothers you, and what you’d like to feel more comfortable doing.
How LymphaTouch Pro works
LymphaTouch Pro is a device used by healthcare professionals to help mobilise soft tissue. A treatment cup rests against the skin and creates controlled suction, gently lifting the skin and the tissue beneath it. The device can also combine this with mechanical vibration. The pressure, cup size and treatment approach can be adjusted to the area and your response.
The manufacturer describes its use for soft-tissue mobilisation and supporting lymphatic circulation, and includes scar therapy among its applications.
What we’ll be aiming to improve
Where it’s suitable, I may use LymphaTouch alongside hands-on scar therapy and movement advice. Depending on your assessment, our goals might include:
- Improving scar mobility: helping a healed scar and nearby skin move more freely.
- Working on a feeling of tightness: addressing areas of superficial tissue that feel restricted or pulled down.
- Making everyday movement more comfortable: working towards the activities that matter to you, such as stretching, walking or returning to exercise.
What an appointment would involve
We’ll start with a conversation about your surgery, healing, symptoms and medical history, followed by an assessment with your consent. If LymphaTouch is appropriate, I’ll explain the treatment before placing a cup on the skin around or over the healed scar.
You may feel a lifting or pulling sensation, and vibration if that setting is used. We’ll check your comfort throughout and adjust or stop whenever you need. Your plan may also include hands-on treatment, exercises and advice for looking after your scar at home.
Choosing the right treatment for you
This may be an option to discuss for healed C-section, hysterectomy or other abdominal surgical scars. An older scar is also worth asking about; its age alone won’t tell us which approach is right for you.
We won’t use the device over an open wound. I’ll check suitability against the manufacturer’s safety guidance, including your skin, medicines and health conditions. Please mention blood clots, heart or kidney problems, pregnancy, cancer treatment or blood-thinning medication when we talk.
If your scar is newly swollen or painful, feels hot, or is leaking pus, seek an urgent GP appointment or NHS 111 advice rather than waiting for scar treatment. The NHS scar-care guidance explains these warning signs and advises only massaging a fully healed wound.
Launching soon at HER Pelvic Health
I’m looking forward to adding this option to the care we already offer. As always, we’ll start by listening to you and choose treatment around your needs and comfort.
Keep an eye on the website for launch details, or get in touch with Bex if you’d like to ask whether LymphaTouch might be relevant to your scar. You can also read about our existing scar therapy service.
